
Luther Keith
Funeral services are set for this coming week for Luther "Badman" Keith, a blues musician, former reporter, columnist, and editor at The Detroit News, as well as the executive director of ARISE Detroit!, who died Wednesday in his sleep. He was 74.
Visitation is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kemp Funeral Home, 24585 Evergreen Road, Southfield. The program and remarks start at 6:30 p.m.
Family hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Fellowship Chapel, 7707 W. Outer Drive, Detroit, with the funeral service to follow.
The burial will be from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery, 19975 Woodward Ave., Detroit.
Flowers can be sent to Kemp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ARISE Detroit!, the nonprofit Keith founded and ran. To donate, visit arisedetroit.org.
