The body of a 19-year-old University of Michigan student who was last seen walking in frigid temperatures without a coat on Hill Street in Ann Arbor around 1 a.m. Friday was found Saturday around noon in the city, police said. No foul play is suspected.
The student was identified as Lucas Mattson, an undergraduate engineering student. His Instagram page said he was from Juneau, Alaska.
Police said in a press release that Mattson was found in the 1900 block of Cambridge Road in Ann Arbor following a 20-hour search by multiple police agencies.
Authorities did not find obvious signs of trauma and do not suspect foul play at this time. The Washtenaw County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death, police said.
One unconfirmed report on Facebook said Mattson left a party that night without a coat.
