Gas Prices in Michigan Up 56 Cents From a Week Ago

The impact of the Iran war continues to be felt oin the pocketbook.

Gas prices in Michigan are up 56 cents from a week ago 72 cents more than this time last last month, AAA reported Monday.

Michigan drivers are  paying an average of $3.55 per gallon for regular unleaded. But prices in Metro Detroit vary widely, with some stations charging far less and some significantly more. 

On Saturday, a station at Mack and I-75 in Detroit was charging $4.39 a gallon.

Motorists are paying an average of $53 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; an increase of about $3 from 2025's highest price last August, AAA reports.

"Gas prices across Michigan have skyrocketed, with drivers paying the highest prices since August of 2024," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. "If crude oil prices continue to climb, pump prices may increase further."
